Tomorrow’s Indiana Area School Board Academic/Extra Curricular/Policy/Personnel committee meeting has been moved to a 5:30 start time and the full board meeting will begin at 6:30. Among the items for the board’s consideration are the typical January slate of retirement notices, timed for the end of the school year. That includes four teachers, a para-educator, and a school nurse.
And the district administration will be directed to work on a preliminary school budget, with its presentation scheduled for public review on January 19th and adoption scheduled for February 9th, or prepare a resolution that the board will not increase property taxes that exceed the state index of 4.5 percent.
Purchase Line’s board meets as well, with ongoing work on policy revisions, votes on some hirings and on two new courses for the high school curriculum, and a resolution to approve about $414,000 for capital and nonrecurring expenditures on their agenda.
United’s board meets on Tuesday, Penns Manor’s board on Wednesday. Homer-Center’s Buildings & Grounds Committee and the full board will meet on Thursday.
