Firefighters from 10 area companies battled a large fire Wednesday morning at the McDonald & Owen Lumber Company in Oliver Township.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, the blaze was reported around 7:15 a.m. in the boiler room, which is attached to a sawdust room, according to Oliver Assistant Fire Chief Michael Coleman Jr., who commanded the scene. Crews were able to contain the fire before it spread into the sawdust area.
One person suffered burn injuries and was transported by Jefferson County EMS. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal.
