Mike Tomlin says the Steelers came out of Sunday’s win over Baltimore in relative good health, with only some “bumps and bruises”, so they should be set to line up against the Houston Texans on Monday night at full strength.
At his weekly media appearance, Tomlin said the playoff-clinching win over the Ravens featured some impressive play by the Steelers, but also had its “jayvee” moments.
Tomlin says his team knows what they’re up against with the Texans having won nine straight games, but the Steelers will be ready.
The coach was happy to welcome back DK Metcalfe, who has served his two-game NFL suspension, but the big wideout’s return is just one aspect of the offensive attack.
Tomlin respects the effort it takes for a team to make the NFL playoffs, and he’s proud of the way the Steelers approached their challenges down the stretch.

It wasn’t completely unexpected, but the Baltimore Ravens’ firing of coach John Harbaugh after 18 seasons still shook the NFL yesterday. The future Hall of Famer was 180-113, with six AFC North titles, twelve playoff appearances, and a Super Bowl win. He will likely have his choice of the other six head coaching jobs that are currently open.
Yesterday, a number of coordinators were fired by their teams, including the Lions letting go offensive coordinator John Morton after just one season, the Cowboys dismissing defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus after one season, and the Commanders firing both of their coordinators, OC Kliff Kingsbury and DC Joe Whitt Jr.
