A man is facing charges following a high speed chase which left a police officer injured in Westmoreland County.
On Saturday, police attempted to pull over a stolen vehicle on Route 30 in North Huntingdon. The driver, identified as Julian Johnson, allegedly fled from police at high speeds and at one point struck a police cruiser before ditching the vehicle and running on foot.
Johnson was taken into custody near an apartment complex in Wilkinsburg and was found to be in possession of a gun and drugs.
An officer suffered from neck and back injuries as a result of their cruiser being struck and Johnson now faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault and theft.
