V. Glen Foster, 92 of Brush Valley Township died Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at the UPMC West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, PA. Born in Brush Valley Township on January 24, 1933, he was a son of the late Henry William Foster and Leona Elizabeth (Rhine) Foster.
Glen was the husband of the former Yvonne Eileen Taylor who preceded him in death December 9, 2013.
He was a graduate of Brush Valley High School and Indiana State Teachers College. From 1953 to 1955, Glen served with the U.S. Army in Augsburg, Germany where he played trombone in the 43rd Infantry Division Band.
Glen began his teaching career in 1959 at Bald Eagle Area High School in Wingate, PA. He moved to the United High School in Armagh in 1967. There he taught biology and American history until his retirement in 1991.
He was a member of the Brush Valley Community Church where he sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School. He also served in various church positions.
Glen was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Ken Sink Chapter of Trout Unlimited, the Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He enjoyed hunting, trout fishing, shooting, trapping, reading and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates.
He is survived by his sons: Brian D. Foster, Duncannon, PA; Keith E. Foster, Mechanicsburg, PA and Roger S. Foster (Tracy), Brush Valley Twp. His grandchildren are: Mark, Erik, Emily and Abby Foster and Mallory Fisher. His great grandchildren are: Josie, Everett, Charlotte and Graham Foster and Haven Ishman. Glen is also remembered by his siblings: Donald R. Foster, Freedom, PA; Fred M. Foster, Indiana, PA; Lewis Dale Foster, Brush Valley Twp. And Barbara A. Joseph, Laurel, DE.
In addition to his wife and parents, Glen was preceded in death by his two daughters: Louise M. and Lisa M. Foster. He was also preceded by his brothers: Richard L. and Thomas D. Foster.
Family and friends will be received Monday, January 5th from 10:00 AM until Noon at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, where his funeral service will begin at noon with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana, PA.
