Law enforcement officials are planning to be out in full force tonight for New Year’s Eve.
Pennsylvania State Police and other agencies will ramp up their road presence. Officers will be on the lookout for those driving while intoxicated by alcohol, drugs or a combination of substances. People are reminded that they need to have their seatbelts on and to drive carefully. They also advise people that if their New Year’s celebration includes drinking, designate a driver or find an alternate way to get home, like a ride share.
Anyone that spots an impaired driver is urged to safely pull over and contact the police.
