Nancy Lee (Mitchell) Caldwell, 86 of Indiana, formerly of Homer City, entered
eternal rest on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at St. Andrew’s Village in Indiana.
Born in Baltimore, MD on September 11, 1939, she was the daughter of the late
Carl Mitchell and Eleanor (Sanchee) Mitchell.
She was a devoted mother. Nancy was NEVER hesitant to give advice to her two
daughters, supervise their dates, and chased away more than one suiter! She was a
longtime employee at St. Andrew’s Village where she worked as a housekeeper
and later received the President’s Club Award. Nancy was more than an employee.
When she saw a resident nearing their end, she often sat with them after her shift to
hold their hand and read the Bible. She also decorated the facility to celebrate
holidays and the Indiana County Fair which was admired by all.
Nancy loved St. Andrew’s while working and later living there. The kindness and
care shown to her will never be forgotten by her family.
Nancy enjoyed watching her daughter’s horse shows, spending time with her
grandchildren, drinking good coffee, eating at various restaurants, attending yard
sales, and going to the Goodwill where she often found hidden treasures.
She attended the Christ Fellowship Church in Indiana.
She is sadly missed by her daughters: Rhonda Reinholtz (Henry), Indiana and
Robin Manfield (Micheal) Eudora, KS. Nancy is also survived by her
granddaughters: Katherine Reinholtz (Sarando Salyer) and Sarah Braden (Andy
Hamilton) and great granddaughter, Charlotte Rose Salyer. Other survivors include
her nieces and nephew: Carla Toelle (Robert), Kelly Mitchell Wetherington (Jason)
and Carl Mitchell, Jr. (Linda).
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Carl “Bunky” Mitchell,
Sr. and by her sister-in-law, Lillian “Sis” Mitchell.
Friends will be received Friday, January 2nd from 4 to 6 PM at the Rairigh-Bence
Funeral Home & Crematory in Indiana, where her funeral service will be held
Saturday morning at 11 AM. Pastor Eryn Stewart will officiate. Interment will be
at Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
