Indiana defeated Moniteau, 55-24, to advance their record to 10-0. Julia Antonacci scored 13, Sophia Boyer had 10, Laken Kugler contributed 9, Emily Ferraro tallied 8, Addy Hutton put up 7, Samantha Martin added 3, Scarlett Stossel put up 2, and Myla Smith had 1. Indiana will play Burrell tonight at 6pm in the championship game of the tournament in Indiana
River Valley rolled over Deer Lakes, 63-32, to win the Apollo Trust Company Tournament. Maddie Twinchek scored 23 points to lead the Panthers, while Kenady Kitner scored 15 and Alessia LaMantia had 11 and was named the tournament MVP. Twinchek made the All-Tourney Team.
Marion Center overcame seven three-pointers by Punxsutawney’s Ella White and knocked off the previously unbeaten Lady Chucks, 55-52, at Redbank Valley. Macie Miller led the way with 24 points and Alivia Ruddock scored 12 for the Stingers.
West Shamokin battered Leechburg, 69-15. Evie Grantz had 20 points for the Wolves, Faith Spencer had 16, and Abrey Reefer 12.
Portage took a 2-point lead into the fourth quarter, but Everette outscored the Mustangs by nine over the final eight minutes to win, 53-46, at the Central Cambria Tournament. For Portage, Kendall Bednarski scored 18 points.
BOYS
The Indiana boys outscored Punxsutawney by 22 points in the middle two quarters and beat the Chucks, 66-38. Drew Brocious hit five three-pointers and scored 17 points. Will Olsen scored 16 and the Webb brothers, Aaron and Darius, each finished with 14.
Indiana will play Derry in the championship game of the tournament tonight. Derry beat River Valley, 69-43, behind a 31-point, 10-rebound effort from Stanley Rajkovich. Max Persichetti scored 17 to lead the Panthers.
United put up a 12-point edge in the first quarter and rode it to a 65-54 win over Somerset to remain unbeaten at 8-0. The Lions will play Tussey Mountain in the championship of the Boswell Jaycees tournament tonight after Tussey Mountain upset tournament host North Star, 47-46 for their first win of the season.
West Shamokin topped Glendale, 64-55, in the consolation game of the Williamsburg Tournament. Alex Talmadge was one of three Wolves in double figures, with 16, and he also had 9 rebounds. Andrew Krizmanich scored 15 points and Vince Harkleroad had 13. Talmadge was named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Homer-Center boys game against Meyersdale at Ferndale was cancelled due to a power outage. The game will be played tonight at 6:45 PM.
