The PIAA has announced that Mark Beyers was unanimously selected to take over as the organization’s executive director.
He has been a member of the administrative staff for the last 26 years, and was brought on in 1999 as assistant executive director and promoted to chief operating officer in 2012. During his tenure, he helped bring girl’s wrestling and girl’s flag football to the list of sanctioned sports in the state, and helped integrate the Unified Special Olympics of Pennsylvania Championships into PIAA Championships.
He becomes the ninth executive director in the organization’s history. His tenure begins on Thursday, January 1st.
