The conviction on murder charges for a Pittsburgh man is being upheld.
In 2022, 39-year-old Shawden Ross was found guilty of murder charges in relation to the fatal 2019 shooting of 27-year-old Lamont Simmons in Westmoreland County. Ross had argued in an appeal that he did not receive an adequate defense at trial.
A judge has rejected the appeal, meaning Ross’s 40-year prison sentence will stand.
