Average gasoline prices across Pennsylvania continued to slide ahead of the Christmas holiday, following a downward trend in national fuel costs.
According to data from AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline has fallen to $2.85, a decrease of nearly 20 cents from the $3.04 average recorded at this time last year. Pennsylvania’s statewide average remains higher than the national figure at $3.09 per gallon, though it still marks a significant drop from the $3.21 average seen in late 2024.
Local pump prices show notable variation across the region. According to GasBuddy and AAA, Indiana County currently carries the region’s highest average at $3.39 per gallon. Relief is more apparent in neighboring counties, with Clarion and Jefferson counties reporting lower averages of $3.09 and $3.13, respectively. Meanwhile, drivers in Clearfield County are seeing prices hover around $3.20 per gallon as global oil production increases continue to offset holiday travel demand.
