GIRLS BASKETBALL
Penns Manor turned up the defensive pressure and solved the West Shamokin zone to top the Wolves, 52-25. Clara Henry had the double-double for Penns Manor, with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Adia Lieb also scored 12, and Katie Bertolino and Josslyn Bennett each scored 9 for the undefeated Comets, who improved to 9-0.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Indiana improved to 6-3, and 2-1 in 5A Section II with a 65-55 Section win over Hampton. Aaron Webb dropped in 20 points, Darius Webb added 15, and Drew Brocious scored 10 for Indiana.
Homer-Center played Punxsutawney in a non-conference game and took an 18-point lead into the fourth quarter before closing out a 45-33 win. Joey Kosmack and Ethan Palmer each scored 10 points for the Wildcats. Max Presloid led Punxsy with 11.
Conemaugh Valley routed Purchase Line 71-27 behind 31 points by Jaylen Henry, 16 by Lance Masser, and 10 by Julian Dietz.
HOCKEY
Four Indiana players have been named to the PIHL All-Star Game roster in the Class A Blue Division. Defenseman Zdeno Dzuro, forwards Matthew Stone and Joey Mains, and goaltender Jacob Wood have been selected to play in the event on Sunday, January 25th at Robert Morris University’s Island Sports Center.
