PennDOT has announced over $47 million in Multimodal Transportation Funding is being distributed across 54 projects in 34 counties, including one project in Indiana County.
The fund provides grant funding to municipalities, councils of governments, businesses, economic development organizations, public transportation agencies, and ports and rail freight entities to improve transportation assets that improve communities, pedestrian safety and transit access. In a statement, PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll said that the investments from the Multimodal Transportation Fund will “support critical, long-lasting improvements.”
In Indiana County, Rayne Township will receive $1,011,197 for resurfacing and drainage improvements to Skyline Drive. Also, $574,305 will go to Ligonier Township to replace the Ramsey Road Bridge.
Applications for the next round of grants will open January 5th at 8:00 AM, and they are due by February 13th.
