While it looks like that Indiana will not have a White Christmas this year, the day after may be tricky for holiday travelers.
The National Weather Service has scheduled a Winter Storm Watch starting at 7:00 AM Friday to 7:00 Saturday morning. They anticipate heavy mixed precipitation with total snow accumulation up to an inch, with ice accumulation up to four-tenths of an inch possible across Indiana, Armstrong, Jefferson and the upper elevations of Westmoreland County. Power outages and tree damage is also possible due to the ice formations, and that could impact travel through the day Friday.
People are advised to delay travel if at all possible and if you do need to head out, use extreme caution, be prepared for sudden changes in visibility, and allow plenty of room for fellow motorists and plenty of time to get to where you need to go.
