Rick Vernon Truitt, 67 of Homer City, unexpectedly died at his home, early Sunday morning, December 21, 2025. Born in Indiana on August 6, 1958, he was raised by his late grandparents, Harvey and Louise Shank. Rick was the husband of Rita Lynn (Edwards) Truitt, whom he married, May 18, 1985.
He graduated from Penns Manor High School and spent the majority of his working career at Gatti Medical Supply and at Westmoreland Mechanical Testing and Research. Rick served four years in the PA Army National Guard.
Rick loved riding his Harley, growing mushrooms and playing video games. He treasured the times he spent with his family, especially his three grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Rita and his son, Joshua Truitt, both of Homer City. He is sadly missed by his grandchildren: Madilyn, Oliver and Xavier Truitt and by his brother, Harvey “Buck” Truitt, Indiana.
Friends will be received Friday, December 26th from 1 to 4 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory in Indiana, where his funeral service will begin at 4 PM. Pastor Ted Cogar will officiate .
