The Pirates have picked up a two-time All-star infielder in a three-team trade yesterday.
Brandon Lowe comes to the Pirates from Tampa Bay. He is coming off a season where he hit .256 with 19 doubles, 31 homers and 83 RBI’s. The Pirates also picked up reliever Mason Montgomery and outfielder Jake Mangum from the Rays. In exchange, right-handed starter Mike Burrows was sent to the Houston Astros. The Rays also received some trade prospects from Houston in the trade.
