The first trailer for a biopic about Indiana native Jimmy Stewart was released earlier this week.
“Jimmy” will star KJ Apa as Stewart and from what the trailer has shown, will focus on Stewart’s life before, during and just after his service in World War II as a member of the Army Air Corps. The film is directed by Aaron Burns and will also feature Max Casella as Frank Capra, Jason Alexander as Louis B. Mayer and Rob Riggle as Colonel Terrill. It will also feature an appearance by Karolyn Grimes, who played Zuzu Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life”
Jimmy Stewart Museum President and Executive Director Janie McKirgan said that the trailer was exciting to watch and said that Stewart’s story is worthy of the big-screen treatment.
The film is a co-production of Burns and Company and RedTed media. It is expected to be released November 6th of next year.
