The Marion Center School Board will hold a voting meeting tonight and a measure concerning the 2026-27 budget is on the proposed agenda.
The board is scheduled to vote on a resolution to not raise taxes above the state-mandated Act 1 index of 5.0%. When the district passed this school year’s budget in June, it carried with it a tax increase of 5.54%. Approval of tonight’s resolution is not a guarantee that they will raise taxes to the maximum.
The board will also take a second look at changes to district policies ranging from diabetes management to service animals in schools to school bus and vehicle drivers.
The meeting is set for 7:00 tonight at the McCreery Large Group Instruction room.
