Two Brookville women are facing nearly 2,000 combined charges after police say they starved, confined and violently abused a teenage boy in their care for years.
Sarah Faber, 37, and Amy Billotte, 51, were arrested after school officials reported the teen appeared severely malnourished. Investigators allege the pair restricted his food, forced him to stay in his room for hours, assaulted him and used threats and physical punishment to control him. The teen, who reportedly dropped to 79 pounds before being removed from the home, has since gained weight and disclosed further details of the alleged abuse to police and medical staff.
Both women are being held in the Jefferson County Prison on $500,000 bail each, with preliminary hearings set for Jan. 5.
