Clymer Borough Council will meet tonight and the 2026 budget is once again on the agenda.
Council last month agreed to put the budget out for advertisement. The proposed spending plan balanced at $641,150. While residents would not see a tax increase, there is a movement of some tax money to the general fund. This is due to the borough’s participation in the Indiana County Municipal Emergency Services Authority. The .342 of a mill that was being used for EMS will be absorbed by the general fund and will be used to cover some increases across the board, according to borough manager Sonya Schrenkel.
Also on the agenda is the approval of the 2026 meeting schedule, approval of employee raises starting January 5th, and the promotion of John Valenti to full-time Public Works Supervisor.
The meeting will be held tonight at 7:00 at the borough building.
