Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalfe did not travel back to Pittsburgh with the team on Sunday as he suffered some stomach discomfort. Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten commented that Metcalfe was admitted to a Baltimore hospital on the advice of the team’s doctors. He returned to Pittsburgh on Monday. No other details were released. Metcalfe caught seven passes for 148 yards in the Steelers win over the Ravens on Sunday.
Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin may address the issue further at the weekly news conference scheduled for today. The team met for meetings yesterday, but will not practice again until Thursday. They get the extra day of rest due to this week’s game being on Monday Night.
