IUP VOLLEYBALL
IUP Volleyball swept Fairmont State in the NCAA Atlantic Regional quarterfinals yesterday, (25-22, 25-19, 25-20). Delaney Concannon had 16 kills, Jessica Nieman 14, and Charlotte Potvin 13, while Ellie Rauch recorded 45 assists.
East Stroudsburg swept Charleston and will play IUP in the semis at 4 o’clock this afternoon in Erie. The two teams have split this season, with IUP winning in the regular season and East Stroud winning in last week’s PSAC Tournament.
IUP BASKETBALL
The IUP basketball teams visit Kutztown this afternoon for a PSAC crossover doubleheader. IUP’s 13th-ranked women are 5-0 while Kutztown is 3-2. IUP is 23-4 all-time against the Golden Bears.
The IUP men are 4-1. Kutztown is 2-1. IUP is 22-7 all-time against the Golden Bears, and has won six in a row and nine of the last ten times they’ve played.
Airtime for the women’s game is at 12:45 this afternoon on 92.5 FM U92, with the men’s game to follow.
IUP FOOTBALL
IUP Football has placed three players on the Conference Commissioner’s Association Super Region 1 All-Region Teams. Wide receiver Devin Whitlock is a first-teamer after leading the PSAC in receptions, with 84, ranking him third in all of Division II.
Tight end Connor Shamany and PSAC Defensive Player of the Year Kalen Frazier both made the second team.
