The IRMC Mountains Behavioral Health Facility has opened its brand-new adolescent wing.

The unit will serve people between the ages of 14 and 17 with an eight-bed facility that includes two large group rooms, a private outdoor area and several safety features through the stylized environment. This expands the availability of services to teens along with adults and seniors. The facility is designed to treat patients experiencing increased anxiety, behavioral disturbances, depression with suicidal thoughts, hallucinations, delusions and other mental health conditions.
IRMC President and CEO Steve Wolfe said in a statement that the hospital was seeing the growing need for mental health treatment to in the county, adding “We’re eager to be able to provide local, compassionate, and expert care to individuals dealing with various mental health challenges.” He called IRMC Mountains Behavioral Health Facility a critical resource to the community.
