The Indiana School Board held its reorganization meeting last night and elected a new board president and vice president.
Dr. Sally McCombie was elected by the board to serve as chairperson, taking over for Walter Schroth. Quintina Thomas was named vice-chairperson for the board. The oath of office was also administered to Thomas, Julia Trimarchi-Cuccaro, Eric Brocious and Tom Harley as they were elected to the board in the November election.
During the regular board meeting that followed, the board approved an agreement with Apptegy for 30 months. Superintendent Rob Heinrich said that the company will do an overhaul on the communications systems with the district.
The board also approved additional door security work for Eisenhower Elementary School, which would allow office staff to lock down the school by pressing one button if the worst came to the district.
