Homer City Borough Council will meet tonight and the 2026 budget is on the agenda.
Council will look to approve next year’s budget, which contains no tax increases and a surplus in revenue. The proposed budget will also cover costs for the borough to utilize Citizen’s Ambulance Service. Officials said that there were some cuts in salary and benefits, especially with the elimination of the full-time police chief’s position and the retirement of borough manager Robert Nymick.
Also on the agenda for tonight is the sale of a firearm to former chief Anthony Jellison. In October, the borough had to buy the gun back from him after it was improperly sold to him by Homer City Mayor Arlene Wanatosky.
The meeting will start at 7:00 tonight at the Homer City Borough Building.
