The Penguins had a great October and a mediocre November, punctuated by a thumping on Saturday by Toronto. So they wanted to start December well, and they sure did, soaring over the Flyers in Philly. Paul Steigerwald has the story.
Coach Dan Muse liked the way the Penguins rebounded from Saturday’s loss, both at even strength and on special teams.
Crosby has scored 59 goals with 78 assists in 92 career games against Philadelphia. He says the Penguins as a team always get up for their cross-state rivals.
The Penguins were 3-for-4 on the power play. Crosby says they kept their composure, even when shorthanded on five-on-threes.
Tristan Jarry stopped 28 of 29 shots in the win to improve to 8-2-0 this season.
The Penguins recalled forwards Rutger McGroarty and Boko Imama earlier on Monday and both were in the lineup last night. They were both injured and got late starts to their seasons, working their way back from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
