A former Jefferson County public housing property manager is facing felony theft charges after allegedly stealing over $2,400 in rent payments from tenants between July and early November.
Authorities in Jefferson County, Pa., say Amanda Geer, 41, of Punxsutawney, admitted to pocketing the funds from her position at the Jefferson Street Hi-Rise. The theft was uncovered after residents who had already paid their rent began receiving eviction notices.
Geer is charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, with a preliminary hearing set for Dec. 18.
