The IUP women didn’t just beat their second straight nationally-ranked opponent, coach Craig Carey’s team destroyed number eleven Fairmont State, 97-53, at the KCAC last night.
Led by Nyshae Weaver’s 23 points on 10-of-11 shooting and twelve rebounds, IUP had four players in double figures. Ellie Wilkerson scored 15, Marin Miller had 13 with eight assists, and Belle Bosche added 14 points with six rebounds.
IUP fell behind 6-2 at the outset, but closed the first quarter with a 14-4 run, then used a 28-17 edge in the second quarter and a 33-12 edge in the third to pull away.
The 5-0 Crimson Hawks will be off until a December 6th game at Kutztown.
