A road construction flagger is recovering after being struck by a vehicle in Fayette County this week.
The incident happened on West Crawford Avenue in Dunbar Township. State police say 21-year-old Garrett Rutter told them he fell asleep behind the wheel before hitting the woman as crews were replacing water lines. The flagger later posted on social media, saying she was taken to Forbes Hospital with bruised ribs. Rutter has been cited for careless driving.
The North Fayette County Municipal Authority is reminding drivers that construction will be going on along West Crawford Avenue for another month or so.
