The Rural Mountains Healthcare Summit at the KCAC continues this afternoon.
In opening remarks, IRMC CEO Steve Wolfe highlighted the importance of the theme for this year, which is “Healthcare Innovation”.
Four members of the Shapiro Administration were on hand for a panel on the effect HR 1 will have on the rural healthcare. Among them was state secretary of Aging Jason Kavulich, who said that “the big beautiful bill” will impact everyone.
Secretary of Human Services Dr. Valerie Arkoosh talked about how rural hospitals can get themselves at the forefront of healthcare innovation.
The conference continues this afternoon and will include further panel discussions and the presentation of the Pennsylvania Rural Health Awards.
