Tuesday night, Indiana Borough Council approved advertising the 2026 budget, but there may be a change between now and December when it will go up for final approval.
Borough council is weighing its options on whether to go with the Indiana County Municipal Emergency Services Authority or to sign an agreement directly with Citizen’s Ambulance, similar to one that White Township set up. Borough Manager Nicole Sipos said that a tax increase may come around depending on which way the borough decides to go.
Further discussion on which option to use will take place next month.
Council also accepted the resignation of Jessica Frick, who is moving out of the West Ward and make her unable to serve the rest of her term. Council elected to name outgoing Council President Luke DeBuyser to fill the position, but he will not accept the nomination until after the December meetings so that he can complete his duties as president.
