The 40-foot tall blue spruce was provided by IUP and comes from behind Waller Hall just off the Oak Grove. It was given in honor of IUP’s 150th anniversary. The tree is now up in IRMC Park and during the rest of the week it will be decorated. Laura Herrington with the Indiana County Tourist Bureau said that this marks a very special time for the county.
The “It’s a Wonderful Life Festival” will kick off Friday night at 5:00 PM with activities throughout Downtown Indiana and IRMC Park. The tree lighting ceremony will be held at 6:30, followed by the holiday parade at 7:00.
We’ll have live coverage of the tree lighting on our Facebook Page and the parade can be seen on Renda Digital TV.
