IUP will begin its quest for a national championship at Miller Stadium when the Crimson Hawks host Assumption (Mass.) in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs on Saturday, November 22.
The Crimson Hawks (7-3) learned their fate Sunday night when the playoff pairings were announced on the NCAA website.
IUP, which lost to Kutztown in the PSAC title game on Saturday, is the fourth seed in Super Region One. The Greyhounds, runner-up from the Northeast-10 Conference, are 8-2.
Game time for Saturday is 1 p.m.
This will be the second time IUP and Assumption have met in the playoffs. IUP won in the 2017 regional championship game, sending the Crimson Hawks on to the national semifinals.
In other SR1 playoff games Saturday, No. 1 Kutztown welcomes Bentley; No. 2 Johnson C. Smith hosts Frostburg (Md.) State, and No. 3 Virginia Union welcomes California (Pa.).
