Leaders with Pittsburgh Public Schools are considering a total student cell phone across the district.
Board members discussed the potential change during a policy workshop this week. Officials say bullying on social media led to the stabbing at Carrick High School in September, prompting talks on the PPS cell phone policy. Right now, administrators at each school are free to allow students to have mobile devices or not.
The new policy would ban personal cell phones and tablets from school grounds completely.
