Thursday morning, The Salvation Army of Indiana County kicked off its Red Kettle season with a fundraising breakfast at the KCAC.
Salvation Army Envoy Christy Ooten said they had over 300 people come as part of the effort to kick off the fundraiser, with a goal of $40,000 for today alone. That is separate from the red kettle campaign itself, which has a goal of $85,000 for the holiday season. Ooten explains why the campaign goal is the same as last year.
The first day the Red Kettles will be out will be Saturday at the Walmart in Indiana along with Ideal market in Homer City and Tate’s Supermarket in Clymer. If anyone wants to be a bell ringer for the Salvation Army, they can contact Envoy Glenn Ooten at 724-465-2530.
