The Steelers were routed by the LA Chargers on Sunday Night Football, falling 25-10. The Chargers gave up the first three points of the game before going on a 25-0 run. Los Angeles had a safety and three takeaways on defense, and they held Pittsburgh to under 225 yards of offense. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert passed for 220 yards and a touchdown, and Ladd McConkey caught four passes for 107 yards and a score.
Steelers gunslinger Aaron Rodgers passed for 161 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the loss.
Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin said that Rodgers did not have his best stuff.
Rodgers said he had a very bad night leading the offense.
DK Metcalf and Roman Watson had 35 receiving yards, while Pat Freiermuth had three catches for 33 yards. Jaylen Warren had 2 catches for 21 yards.
On the ground, the Steelers were limited to 73 yards. Jaylen Warren had 70 of those on 14 carries, while Kaleb Johnson had two carries for three yards.
Tomlin said that the offense struggled all night.
Rodgers said that he is not panicking yet.
The Steelers still lead the AFC North at 5-and-4. Yesterday, the Ravens beat the Vikings 27-19. Cleveland lost to the NY Jets 27-20. The Bengals had the bye week. The lead for the Steelers narrows as Baltimore is now 4-5, with Cincinnati now at 3-6 and Cleveland at 2-7.
