Robert Alan “Bob” Busi, 70 of Homer City, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Born in Indiana on February 5, 1955, he was the son of the late Vincent Busi and Helen (Cybulsky) Busi. Bob was the husband of Renee L. (Edwards) Busi, whom he married, June 20, 1981.
He graduated from Homer Center High School and worked in the coal industry for more than 20 years, working for R & P Coal Company and later, Console Energy. After retiring from the coal mines, Bob was employed as a custodian at the Homer Center School District and also worked in the Maintenance Department for the Student Co-op at IUP.
Bob was an outdoorsman who loved to spend time hunting and fishing. He was also an avid woodworker, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He especially treasured the time he had with his three grandchildren, whom he referred to as “My Boys”.
He is survived by his wife, Renee; his children, Kayla Strong (Mark) and Tyler Busi (Brandi), all of Homer City; his loving grandsons Jackson Strong, Liam Busi and Wyatt Busi. Bob is also remembered by his sister, Janet Silveri (Spartan) of Indiana; his uncle, Richard Tutoki of Homer City, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday, November 11th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, 965 Philadelphia St., Indiana. Bob’s funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 11 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Arlene Schweitzer will officiate.
