With winter weather on the way, PennDOT District 10 — which covers Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Indiana, and Jefferson counties — says crews are ready for the season.
PennDOT officials say their goal is to keep motorists and staff safe while maintaining passable roadways. They encourage drivers to do their part by preparing their vehicles, driving carefully, and following safe winter driving practices.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, leave extra space between vehicles, turn on headlights, and clear snow and ice from their cars before traveling. Drivers should also avoid using cruise control on wet or icy roads and use caution when approaching bridges and ramps where ice can form quickly.
PennDOT urges drivers to “know before you go” by checking road conditions, plow locations, and traffic cameras at 511PA.com or through the 511PA mobile app.
