Monday night, the Indiana School Board approved the purchase and sales agreement for Horace Mann with Pivotal GP Holding, LLC.
The company has expressed an interest in turning the building into affordable housing. The building was decommissioned on May 30th after serving the community as a school for 117 years. The vote was 7-0 with Tom Harley and Quintina Thomas abstaining. Superintendent Robert Heinrich talked about the next steps for the sale.
In other business, the board accepted the resignation of Eric Brocious from the two-year elected board seat effective on the board’s reorganization meeting. Brocious won a four-year seat in the election, so he will be taking that seat. The board will look to appoint current board member Josh Muscatello to take the two-year seat at their reorganization meeting on December 2nd.
