The Indiana Area School Board on Monday night will formally consider the sale of the former Horace Mann Elementary School to Pivotal GP Holding LLC for $470,000. Pivotal wants to turn the school building, which was decommissioned last spring, into an apartment building for low-income residents. It would require an extensive renovation, with hopes to have residents move in by late 2028.
Among other actions on an extensive agenda, the Indiana board will also appoint a number of head coaches and assistants tomorrow night, including baseball, track, boys tennis, girls softball, and boys and girls lacrosse.
Purchase Line’s board is scheduled to approve the merging of two positions into one, and appoint Director of Curriculum and Innovation Dr. Jessica Lindsay to assume the new job title “Junior/Senior High School Principal/Director of Innovation”.
Purchase Line’s directors also will vote on requesting an interim assessment of all properties within district boundaries in both Indiana and Clearfield counties. And as is increasingly being required of school districts across the commonwealth, the board will consider seeking a tax anticipation note due to the state budget impasse. They will also approve a resolution urging state lawmakers to end the budget stalemate. Finally, the board will vote on a motion for an investment grade audit of the high school facilities.
Penns Manor’s board will meet on Wednesday.
