Two men from Shelocta are facing charges of trespass and evading police from an incident last Tuesday in Indiana.
Borough police have charged 50-year-old Andrew Dunkle and 47-year-old Matthew Strotman, who were apprehended near the Essex House Apartments in the 1300 block of Oakland Avenue. Officers were sent there at 3:00 PM on November 4th for a possible burglary in progress, and while there, the two men were seen leaving the building. Police chased them down and took them into custody. Officers also recovered previously cut copper piping along with cutting instruments and a gas generator in the building.
Both men are in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail each. Preliminary hearings for Dunkle and Strotman are scheduled for December 3rd. Indiana Borough Police were assisted by the District Attorney’s office and expect more charges will be filed.
