The Pens head to New Jersey to take on the Devils this afternoon as part of a back-to-back weekend. They will return home to host the LA Kings tomorrow afternoon. As it is back-to-back, it’s not known if rookie goalie sensation Sergei Murashov will start today or tomorrow. He was called up for Thursday’s game as Tristian Jarry is on the IR list.
The Pens are offering their support to Filip Hallander as it was announced on Friday that he will be out at least three months with a blood clot in his leg. Coach Dan Muse indicated Hallander’s issue isn’t life-threatening, and they were able to discover it early. If all goes well, he would be back in February when the league goes on the Olympic break.
