Friday turned into another active day for Indiana County’s first responders.
After the truck fire yesterday morning that shut down an off ramp from Route 422 to Route 286, Indiana County 911 reported two incidents of lines down. One on Route 954 in Washington Township handled by Creekside Fire Department at 12:51 PM, and the other on Route 210 in North Mahoning Township at 1:12 in the afternoon, with Plumville firefighters handling the call.
A structure fire was also reported along Seaman Lane in Pine Township. Indiana County 911 sent the Pine Township, Cherryhill Township, Clymer, Spangler, Nicktown and Home Fire departments to the scene at 4:22 PM. Commodore fire department was sent to assist a few hours later. Pine Township fire officials say the fire was at a double-wide mobile home. No injuries were reported, but the building was completely destroyed. The cause of the fire is believed to be a wood burner. One person was home at the time and made it out safely. Crews were on the scene for three hours.
And an automatic fire alarm was reported on North Walnut Street in Blairsville Borough at 4:49 PM. Blairsville and Black Lick fire departments were sent out.
