Criminal call hearings are on the schedule today for Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas, including one for a man charged with stalking and other crimes connected with an incident in Blairsville in May.
Police charged 31-year-old Richard Torres Santiago of Saltsburg with stalking, simple assault, harassment and driving on a suspended license for an incident on May 21st. Officers said that he harassed a woman on that day, and then the same woman and a second person on May 27th by blocking them in with his car. Along with the aforementioned charges, he also is accused of obstruction of highways in the second case.
Criminal Call is designed to update the court and the parties involved on the progress of a case. Proceedings are usually postponed to a later date, but on occasion, guilty pleas have been entered at the Criminal Call phase.
