Charges of criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse have been filed in the investigation into the death of a man found on state game lands in Loyalhanna Township in Westmoreland County.
State police posted on their X account that Joseph Zvara of Greensburg was arrested in connection with the death of 64-year-old Robert Friend. Friend was found by a hunter near a parking lot on the state game land. His death was ruled a homicide by state police, with officials saying that Friend died either late October 24th or early October 25th. Officers said that Friend was a transient person but did have some connections to the Greensburg area.
State police say the investigation is continuing. Zvara will be in court later this month for his preliminary hearing. Police are still looking for information in this case and a $2000 reward remains available from authorities.
