Respiratory viruses like influenza and RSV are beginning to see an uptick in Pennsylvania.
According to a report this week from the state Department of Health, a total of 870 cases of lab-confirmed flu have been reported in Pennsylvania since September 28th, an increase of 414 cases. However, the percentage of emergency department visits with a flu diagnosis remains very low for all ages across the commonwealth. In Indiana County, nine cases of flu have been reported.
For RSV, there have been 290 confirmed cases during the same period in Pennsylvania. Emergency department visits are also very low across all age groups. Statewide numbers also show that emergency room visits for Covid-19 are also very low across the state.
No RSV or Covid cases have been reported in Indiana County.
