The registration period for the upcoming Pennsylvania Mountains Rural Health Conference at the KCAC will come to a close next Monday.
The day-long event will be held at the KCAC on the campus of IUP on November 20th. The theme for the conference is “healthcare innovation” and will feature a panel discussion with members of Governor Josh Shapiro’s cabinet, including Department of Human Services secretary Dr. Valerie Arkoosh, Department of Health secretary Dr. Debra Bogen, Secretary of Aging Jason Kavulich and Insurance Commissioner Michael Humphreys. Their panel discussion will focus on “Implications of H.R.1 and Opportunities Under the Rural Health Transformation Plan” and will be lead by IUP’s Dean of the proposed college of osteopathic medicine Dr. Miko Rose.
The keynote speaker will be given by the President and CEO of The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania Nicole Stallings. Her topic will be “Our Communities’ Futures Depend On Strong Rural Hospitals”.
The doors open for the event at 7:30 AM with presentations to follow until 3:30 PM and the closing remarks from 4:30 to 5:00 PM.
