Wednesday turned into a busy day for Indiana County’s first responders.
Crews from the Glen Campbell Fire Department responded to the 82nd Brush Fire call of the year in Indiana County at 4:51 PM. The call was at a location on Peles Road in Montgomery Township. Cherry Tree and Commodore Fire Departments were called to assist about 10 minutes later. Mahaffey, Rossiter and Clymer fire departments were also dispatched later on. No word yet on how much damage was done in the fire. Glen Campbell Firefighters earlier in the day were on standby detail at their station at 1:46 PM.
Another brush fire was reported on Aultman Avenue Extension in Punxsutawney yesterday. Rossiter fire department was asked to assist Jefferson County firefighters on the scene at 12:08 PM.
A vehicle crash was also reported at 1:16 PM on Lockvale Road in Banks Township. Big Run fire department, Citizens and Veterans EMS services and State Police were sent out. Details on the crash have not been released.
