In the first College Football Playoff selection polls, the Pitt Panthers came in at 24th. They are one of five ACC teams on the list, with Virginia (14), Louisville (15), Georgia Tech (17) and Miami (18) also making it. This came after the Panthers were un-ranked in the recent AP 25 and Coaches poll. Pitt is riding a five-game winning streak and are 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the ACC. The Panthers are enjoying a bye week before they take on #10 ranked Notre Dame on November 15th at noon at Acrisure Stadium.
Ohio State is leading the nation as the number one team. Indiana, Texas A&M, and Alabama round out the top four teams which would receive a bye to the quarterfinals. BYU is ranked seventh as the leader of the Big 12. Memphis leads the American and would be the 12th seed.
