One former Pirates player is being recognized for his strong defense. Ke’Bryan Hayes won the National League Gold Glove in the third base position yesterday. This makes his second gold glove in the last three years. Hayes was sent to Cincinatti at the trade deadline in a deal that brought prospect Sammy Stafura and reliever Taylor Rogers.
Pirates overall number-one prospect Konnor Griffin received the Minor League Gold Glove for shortstop. He posted a combined .980 fielding percentage and was charged with only seven errors in 89 games played.
